Greetings all!
Well as I continue to drool over the SB2 setups, I still have to "put
up with" the old SB1!!
However I can say that (some how) I haven't had any problems with my
general setup - including streaming FLACs over a wireless network..
Anyway, I am slowly converting my MP3 collection to FLAC. I used to use
MP3gain to bring the albums up to similar gains (some album gain some
track gain). Is there a similar program for FLACs? As at the moment
there are large differences between the existing Flacs and MP3s. I use
EAC to rip to wav then FLAC 1.1.1a to encode.

Also I finally got round to getting the optical lead to connect the SB1
to my Sony AV amp. As far as sound quality goes an infinate jump in
quality (as expected) no "lock" problems, and generally happy! However,
when changing tracks the digital output is obvioulsy momentarily
interupted and when the "new" track starts there is a period of time
(.5 sec maybe) before my amp locks the signal again. Now this doesn't
happen when the tracks play back-to-back from an album or playlist.
Is there anyway that the SB1 can keep a "keep alive signal" going to
the digital out when skipping tracks, or is this a limitation of my
amp??

All ideas/advice greatly appreciated as always.
Thanks

Nic

PS still using SS 5.3.1 (!) as its never given me a hint of
problems.... hope the SS 6.x gets stable enough for when my powers of
persuasion work on the wife to let me have a shiny new SB2!!!
