Yes, MiP is much better than that. Plus, if you find that MiP is getting redundant, you can tweak some parameters to mix it up (pun intended) a bit.
It happens often enough that I'll pick an electronic song as a seed and get some jazz in there. It seems strange to look at, but once the mix plays through, you hear how it made sense.
