Yes, that's really lousy boilerplate push-em-through customer service. That said, at some point the SB3 warranty went from 1 year to 2 years. I forget when that was, but I *think* it was before Dec 2007. So your unit could still be under warranty. If so, I hope you didn't screw that up by opening it up yourself.
