I looked at the code... As it is written now it requires lame to do
(re-)compression, it will give an error message ("Could not load
lame_enc.dll") if it cannot load the dll. It would be possible to
program around that, but I guess FLAC would be the best choice (see
toby's post). I'm looking at it, but I don't know the FLAC interface
well enough, yet... If I get around to get it working, I'll share. In
the meantime, someone knowing these things better than me, please give
it a go, it will be appreciated.
Concerning compression... Spotify streams in a compressed format
already, right? So, that "extra edge" would already be compromised,
not?
