Then run a 24/7/365 dedicated Music Server. It costs less then $25 a
year in electricity and is always ready.

It is my opinion that there is no such thing as a best NAS when it
comes to Squeezeboxes and SBS. Almost all NASs are way over priced and
way under powered. NASs are not designed to run programs much less
something as needy as SBS. They are designed for File Storage.

I can't suggest more strongly to use an old PC or build/buy a dedicated
music server. Have a look at the 'Vortexbox Appliance '
(http://shop.smallgreencomputer.com/) and/or using the ' Vortexbox OS '
(http://vortexbox.org/about/) on a DIY PC.

You can make your dedicated Music Server as Green as you want or as
powerful as you need. Atom based micro PCs make great platforms for a
dedicated Music Server. If you pick the right Atom Motherboard you can
have a fanless Music Server with the only noise being from the SATA
harddrive you pick.
