Totally agree with iPhone's suggestion here. I built myself a rig using an MSI barebones (Atom 330) and a WD 1.5TB hard drive, very similar to the VortexBox appliance computer. (I like to tinker, so it was more fun to build it myself.) It's a great solution: always on, low power, very quiet, no monitor needed. The MSI Nettop has a fan, but again it's very quiet. As far as OS is concerned, use the VortexBox package. It runs on the Fedora flavor of Linux -- easy to use, and there is great support in this community. You can download the image for an installation CD at vortexbox.org. -- ajkidle Squeezeboxen: 2x SBR, SB3, 2x Boom, Radio Controlled by: iPeng on a 3GS (4.0.1) Server: Dedicated MSI Nettop 100 running VortexBox 1.4 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ajkidle's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=18929 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=80747 _______________________________________________ discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
