No sure workaround, but you have the stream.mp3 option too . http://<squeezeboxserver ip>:9000/stream.mp3
Example my server is http://192.168.1.5:9000/stream.mp3 Is the server running on the same machine, use localhost. http://127.0.0.1:9000/stream.mp3 To stream to whatever media player you want. I don't know if it is gapless . The drawbacks are that it is always mp3 and always lagging whatever the internal buffer is in winamp or iTunes or what you use, so start and stop would be sluggish, sync completely out of the question. And you still controll from squeezeboxserver *not* the mediaplayers buttons it acts like an radio stream to the media player.
