I am one of the persons that tested FlaCuda intensively and also contribute in that mentioned thread on Hydrogenaudio. My complete collection is encoded with FlaCuda -8 and there is not one problem file. Most likely the file you downloaded was compressed with a non-standard high compression of 9-11.
