Hi there Plex is a fork (branch) from XBMC which, although originally an xbox media center, is now cross platform and available for windows,mac and linux and will use hardware accelleration under windows and linux (with Nvidia cards / VDPAU) Go to http://xbmc.org/ and take a look around.
