@bluegaspode - It is by no means a deal breaker if you don't support portrait, but IMHO, it would add to the app being polished.
When marketing comes over to my desktop and wants my desktop application to work with large fonts turned on (120dpi vs 96dpi) I do what I can to support it because there are users out there who use large fonts in Windows, just like there are users who would prefer portrait. Again, for me it's not a deal breaker. I personally have not purchased a dock just yet, I'm looking at the Altec Landsing dock since it will rotate to landscape. My intended use other than sitting on my couch will be to have it sit on the kitchen counter while I'm entertaining to allow guests to walk up and search for music and add it to the current playlist like a jukebox. So yes, there are times I'll want to leave the iPad docked while playing. I now have three Squeezebox devices (radio, boom and touch) and have been using your application exclusively. You have definitely nailed it!
