Are you running some sort of firewall? My Duet was highly temperamental on switching and firewalling surely wasn't helping. Also I think I found relief once by removing the player from mySB and adding it again. You could try using the Server Power Control plugin (thread in 1/3 party plugins subforum) it tries to swtch players (including the Duet) and you should get menus on the remote to, eg switch to mySB and suspend the server.
