I disagree. My semi-non-technical mother seems quite able to use her Squeezebox Duo and Radio. I lent a hand plugging and configuring things (a one-off task, and it's not unusual to ask a technical relative/friend to set up new A/V kit -- I did the same with her TV). She has a folder into which she can drop music for playback on the Squeezebox, and it Just Works.
