Agree with other posts - the Touch is a good replacement for the SB3. The receivers are ok if you really don't want to see what's playing, but the Duet controller is hard work.
On your SB3, I note that you say you checked the voltage but very often the voltage is ok until you start to draw current - then it drops and you see intermittent faults. If you have another PSU that you know works, try swapping them. Or maybe borrow one from someone else.
