They are dynamic? Why? I thought that there were very limited occasions on where modfiying accesses are needed for a music database, e.g. media scans or manipulating a playlist (even then, only the playlist can be changed, not the database itself). Normally, the database should be mostly static, or am I wrong? You mentioned iTunes, does this add any demands in this respect that I missed?
