Is hdmi in or out of the picture ? Not for streaming movies but for multichannel audio , this would also demand some small changes in the server to make it accept 5.1 and 7.1 FLAC and WAV (I mean 24bit lpcm over hdmi )
In many cases with a home cinema hdmi is all you need .
