Unsurprisingly this thread certainly seems to generate a lot of responses. External DACs are not missing in the marketplace. In my view, what is missing from the marketplace is a wireless receiver that enables distributed sound, 24bits/96 khz or higher (which Sonos doesn't do), in the price region of the Squeezebox Touch, and with a variety of digital outs not just USB, but also S/PDIF coaxial, or even AES/EBU, a clock input wouldn't be bad either. The RPi, afaik, is limited to 11 bits, so would not be ideal base for an audiophile solution. Software wise I believe integration with XBMC makes total sense. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Gadgety1's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=33223 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=97881 _______________________________________________ discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
