Postion for a buddy of mine who bought Squeezepad + local playback on my
recommendation on his iPad 2 (updated since to the latest iOS) when the
iPad 3 launched. He's been quite happily using it to play from a
Synology 2-disk NAS over Airplay (Airport Express connected to his old
stereo) without issues other than the occasional WiFi dropout.
Today suddenly Squeezepad lost connection to the server running on the
Synology (ver 7.7.3, no more recent version packaged for it through
Synology, not going to install SSODS on it, would need too much of my
time to update once in a while ;)) and the connection won't come back.
I've just spent over an hour on the phone with his PC in Teamviewer
remote control trying to solve the issue and I can't for the life of me
see what's wrong ...
Network topology: ADSL router @ 192.168.1.1, Airport Express in bridge
mode IIRC, NAS wired on 192.168.1.3, PC wirelessly @ 192.168.1.5, iPad
on 192.168.1.4
ping test:
Code:
--------------------
iPad -> NAS: NOK
iPad -> PC: OK
PC -> NAS; OK
PC -> iPad: OK
NAS -> iPad: NOK
NAS -> PC: OK
--------------------
Web browsing on the iPad works perfectly, except when trying to open the
LMS-page (server is listening on port 9002). From the PC this works
flawlessly. I've rebooted the NAS, hard rebooted the iPad, uninstalled
and reinstalled SqueezePad, all to no avail.
Has anybody already seen this kind of behaviour?
