Are you using the beta or 2.0.x? The released beta has some annoying quirks. Must. Release. Updated. Beta. Otherwise, it could be an incompatibility or just bad behavior between Orange Squeeze and 7.9 nightlies. I haven't tried 7.9 yet, so if it works at all, it's solely because the LMS maintainers are doing a great job of keeping backwards compatibility.
