Hi; This thread seems to have gone cold, but let me jump in. This is my thread that the community helped me with: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?105597-Receiver-Optimal-Orientation The rebuffering which would occur out of nowhere, as you say once a day, or once every couple, was maddening. Once it was rebuffering, usually it was stuck in the loop for a while or indefinitely. It was possible to be listening to, say a 128/192/320 kbps radio station, start the rebuffer cycle, then, out of frustration, move to my library, and rebuffering would continue. So, it wasn't the internet connection. The system (or I should say the situation) doesn't seem to self heal Here's what I did - 1) Moved the receiver - wiress signal (as read and displayed by receiver, jumped from 30-45% to 55-65%). All common sense in moving it failed, so it seemd to be hit and miss, except, the receiver was moved to the elevation of the router. 2) Bought a Asus router, and used my dsl provider's gateway in bridge mode. I saw the signal move from 55-65% to 60-70%, not much, but I am suspecting: a) The signal measurement on the receiver is probably not a swiss watch with regard to accuracy and repeatability b) There is other RF and data handling "good stuff" electronics in the Asus that doesn't show in a simple signal strength measurement.. 3) I took the android app "wifi analyzer", went out to the receiver, found out what channels my neighbors (relatively rural) were on, and chose 11 to avoid. It's been several days where I have been home and working in and around the garage, and it has been rock solid. Now, that's not to say I don't hit "send" and it starts. best of luck to you. It's quite possibly not one thing but several little ones Jim ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Redrum's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=33806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=105634 _______________________________________________ discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
