Heh, cabled networks are absolutely no sign of historic behavior. Someday wireless Ethernet may exceed wired in terms of speed and reliability (not likely), but until then, wired networks will exist, and be superior to wireless. If I could get the cable installed in my existing home for cheap, I would.

GigE in the house is infinitely superior to 54mbit wireless.

I don't think my company's 10GigE customers would be too happy with 54mbit either =). That's a lot of bundling.
