How do you know whether or not it has gone into standby? I probably
missed it when I read the manual, but my TS-101 (300Gb) stays hot 24/7,
I would have thought that if it went into standby overnight it should be
stone cold in the morning. So maybe mine isn't going into standby
either (currently set to 30mins of no disk access)

To back up everyone elses statements, my 300Gb also crashes during file
uploads at seemingly random intervals. But it also crashes when first
accessed after a long period of inactivity. Twice, after being unused
overnight, the box has crashed when first accessed, the crash has
identical symptoms to what occurs when uploading files. HDD light
stuck on, no response to power of reset buttons.

I hope this information helps.

Oh dear, that would be very inconvenient for all concerned.

Good luck getting a fix sorted Paul, thanks for taking the time to read
and post on these forums.
