Personally I found that setting up Slimserver and my SB3 was a lot easier than, for example, setting up my living room DVD recorder. Ipods and equivalent music players are so widespread now, even amongst non tech savvy types, I'd be surprised if there were many Squeezebox purchasers that lack a way of ripping music to their PCs.
I must admit that I was a little surprised at the lack of a CD in the box. I think if Squeezeboxes were more readily available across the counter in high street shops, then a CD with at the very least a stable Slimserver build on it would be essential just to get people up and running. It would be interesting to know what are the features that draw people to the Squeezebox. For example, my wife loves the fact that it is wireless, looks good and has an interface she finds easy to navigate. I love the fact that it is quiet, plays everything I throw at it and has good sound quality. There's a market of people more like my wife out there, that could so easily be tapped if things were just fractionally simpler to setup. -- Fuseball ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Fuseball's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=5776 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=25168 _______________________________________________ discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
