KDF-- have you explored the onFailure option available in Prototype
with AJAX requests?

sadly, it's almost never the request itself that fails. It is the filling in of data. For instance, if $() fails, the process just stops. Mostly this is a case of tempalte toolkit [% IF %] blocks that wipe out a div id in some cases. The only way to debug there is to either step through the script or move an alert through to code to track the line of failure.

It all comes down to time. Right now, I have to say that the amount of time this stuff is taking is rapidly outdoing my ability to allocate. Frankly given the increasing level of tirades both public and private, I have to admit that perhaps I am less willing to give the time, rather than simply not having it to offer. I was not going to even respond initially to this thread, but felt compelled to assist after the response of the original poster. Much credit deserved there.

Aside from that, I did spend a couple of evenings trying to track down any divs that might be wiped out from as many cases as possible. The results are in the nightly builds.
