That's exactly what putting AJAX in the web interface does-- offloading the interface to the client side. I didn't put AJAX in all elements of Touch/Nokia770, but you should get great performance from the 'now playing' and 'playlist' pages. The promise of the web interface over something like Moose is true cross-platform compatibility.
