Fujitsu has apparently been in the tablet biz longer than anyone else so there are thousands of their old machines available. The processors aren't ultra fast and the HDDs small, and the RAM is limited, but how much performance do you need for a remote control?
Here's the details on the 3500 I bought- note, specs on Fujitsu's page are newer models with bigger HDD. Mine has 6GB. http://www.fujitsupc.com/www/products_pentablets.shtml?products/pentablets/stylistic_3500 There are a lot of pen/tablet PC forums where help can be found to keep them running and do things like replace HDDs. I found the software o operate the touch screen at a fujitsu site in Germany (I have misplaced the link). And the technical manual here: http://www.filbitron.com/Files/techref-st3500.pdf The Fujitsu LT C-500 is another good one, but usually comes with win98SE and less RAM. The screen is a little smaller and it weighs about 2 lbs. It usually goes for about $200. http://www.fujitsupc.com/www/products_pentablets.shtml?products/pentablets/stylistic_c500 If you like a more rugged, military look, and don't care so much about weight, there are Ramline tablets for about $120 that have a 10.4" color touchscreen. http://cgi.ebay.com/Ramline-Tablet-PC-Laptop-Computer-Touchscreen-GPS-xplor_W0QQitemZ330073421242QQihZ014QQcategoryZ39980QQcmdZViewItem TD -- tyler_durden ------------------------------------------------------------------------ tyler_durden's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2701 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=31569 _______________________________________________ discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
