As far as noise goes, I expect that the way I'd be using it would be turn it on, unsuspend, select the stuff I want to hear, building a playlist, then suspend again, unless I want to read something while the music is playing. I also hope it will be quiet. I'm starting to look at bigger HDDs for it for more book/video storage. I got an automotive power adapter for it, so it would be nice to have enough space for a couple movies to watch on long trips, if the cpu is fast enough to play them properly. I may just use a thumb drive on the USB port and leave the 6 GB drive in the thing.
