Not to distract the thread, but I have a related question. Here is my desired behavior:
I want all of my artists to show up in the artists list, whether or not they are compilation only. However in the albums list, I want a compilation album to only show up once, not once per artist. I've found no combination of settings which produces this -- I seem to remember that Slim Server used to behave this way, but changed at some point along the line. They should still be searchable and will appear under the album listing, just not in artist listings. My question was really one about the display of the albums when the "List compilation ablums under each artist" option is selected. I know a lot of changes are constantly being made to the way VA albums are handled, with many unintended side-effects, so it wouldn't surprise me if the ugly album display above was unnoticed by any of the developers or the beta testers.
