There must have been a faulty batch because exactly the same happened
to me in late March 07, but I simply went onto the Amazon Uk site &
logged the problem........and was amazed to find that within a couple
of hours a brand new one was being despatched FOC.....with postage on
faulty one being refunded.
VERY IMPRESSIVE CUSTOMER SERVICES FROM AMAZON, AND ALL ONLINE.
