Okay, I follow you now. But making slimserver, which is obviously a server application, into a CD-playing application seems like a huge stretch, especially across multiple platforms. I'm not trying to shoot down your idea -- I imagine it would be useful to some people. But just a couple of the many details to work out are (1) with multiple SBs, how does slimserver know to which SB it should stream the CD?, and (2) most headless computers running slimserver are in relatively inaccessible places, so popping a CD in isn't necessarily convenient.
