so i am in the process of cleaning up my music library and i have a few
questions regarding formats and quality, etc

i am trying to maintain the best song quality possible, and dont want
anything in my library below 256 bit rate.

so im transferring all my red bood cds in the lossless format. the
thing is, i have a lot of burned cds (not compilations) from over the
years, and i dont know what format i burned them in (1:1???). itwas
back in the day when you just stuck a cd into the drive, cicked burn,
and it did it. i dont want to waste the space on my hard drive of using
a lossless format on these discs if they are of lesser quality. is there
a way to tell?

also, i have about 4000 songs on my old hard drive from itunes or
whatever, and they are ALL 128 bit rate. is there any hope for these
files? or are they just crap? i cant stand poor sound quality, and
whenever i play these in my car or whatever they sound so "digitized"
or "electronic"....not like the real thing.

oh, and is AAC considered a good format? im thinking of compromising
and putting the less important files into AAC at 320. is this
sufficient?
thanks
