Looks like marketing is driving new products in different directions, with a big emphasis on SqueezeNetwork so that consumers don't have to continue to maintain a local server. > I think the device itself is fine so I don't think my idea requires a > lot of investment in hardware. Well, there's this guy, who claims to be the largest reseller of Transporters. Actually, you would seem to be the exact consumer that he's aiming for. They stuff two hard drives into a small form factor PC and call it an NAS. He seems a little clueless, though, when it come to the actual product. I'm guessing he's got a seventeen year old kid building the servers and installing the software down in the basement while he does mailorder in the kitchen. http://www.audiocircle.com/circles/index.php?topic=49699 http://www.soundsciencecat.com/MusicVault.html -- JJZolx Jim ------------------------------------------------------------------------ JJZolx's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=43198 _______________________________________________ discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
