I'm about to re-engineer my home network with an eye toward using an NAS and a Squeezebox as a source for a high-end audio system.
A brief search didn't uncover this particular configuration, so here are my questions: - -(re: network)- I want to use 2 (wifi) laptops with three devices connected to a 4-port wireless router. The three devices are a (network-ready) printer, an NAS and my cable modem. Will all the features/conveniences of the Squeezebox and the FLAC files on the NAS be available in this configuration? - -(re: network)- Is a server of any type -mandatory- in order to use the NAS and Squeezebox as a music source? - -(re: music)- If each laptop already has an iTunes collection on it, will the Squeezebox "index" those collections along with the FLAC files on the NAS? Is it automatic or user-selectable? I actually want *only the music on the NAS* to be available via the Squeezebox. Thanks to any and all who provide answers/suggestions. -- 6sigma ------------------------------------------------------------------------ 6sigma's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=15887 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=44290 _______________________________________________ discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
