The Squeezebox system requires a "server". This can either be SqueezeNetwork, or SqueezeCenter. SqueezeCenter normally runs on any kind of PC, but has been made to work on some NAS devices.
My personal suggestion is to setup a cheap, low power Linux PC to act as the "NAS" and SqueezeCenter server.
