Michael, thanks for not giving up on this, I am sure there is a way out. I selected the iTunes towards the end of installation as I recall, it prompted to point the path, that was at iTunes folder level. As soon as I clicked on it (external HD) it seemed busy getting some info, I could not point to any individual file/sub folder in iTunes library folder. SC runs on the same MacBook Pro as iTunes, just the library is on an external Raid 1 HDD. SC knows where everything is, it works with manual rescan, somehow, the auto rescan does not trigger the same command. I tried attaching twice a zip file with all screen dumps, it uploads but I can't see anything in preview, not sure the attachments work, if not, please drom me an email where I can send them to.
