Most of my collection is legit - some 500+ cds. Now that I have the ability to stream my collection from a server, I am open to purchasing digital music online.
I do not want any DRM on what I play inside my house. If i buy something, i want to use it as i see appropriate. That means -- no DRM! I am willing to pay for music - but I want it DRM-free. I recently wanted to purchase a digital copy of Emmy Lou Harris' latest recording and I went online to do so. In Canada my only option was DRM. I tried Amazon, but it's locked down to US only. I waited for a local cd shop to bring it in and ripped it to my server, but i could just have easily got impatient and downloaded an illegal copy, which is what many people do. I think DRM just pisses off legitimate customers and does not deter those that would steal the music. The record companies have got to get a clue. -- chinaski ------------------------------------------------------------------------ chinaski's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=15792 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=50531 _______________________________________________ discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
