If you don't need MayaVi (or other packages), you're supposed to
comment them out of your CHECKS (see the issue I filed here [1]).  I
think the long-term solution to this issue is [2], but I haven't had
any feedback on that PR.  If folks here want to look it over and post
feedback, that would be great :).

I'm not sure what's going on here.  My guess is that the student did
not install Anaconda (because their PATH doesn't contain any Anaconda
stuff), so they'll want to use their package manager to isntall pyzmq.
