Hi - I'll be the first to tell you that the documentation for Zabbix is absolutely atrocious. But I'll also be the first to tell you that Zabbix is one of the best FOSS monitoring, trending, and alerting applications out there. I'd know; I've been on this hunt for years. If you're down for getting to know the innards of a product that can only be found/known by hacking on it, then Zabbix is right for you. I use it quite extensively for monitoring anything from BSD to Windows. It has agents that (can) run on the monitored system, but it also has no problem using SNMP. I'd say that the only complain that I have overall is, again, the documentation. The forums are very active, however, and so is the IRC channel. You'll find out what you need to know, but it will cost you a little bit more time than what you might be accustomed to. Hope that helps. Thanks -dant _______________________________________________ Discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lopsa.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/discuss This list provided by the League of Professional System Administrators http://lopsa.org/
