I never thought I'd see the day when getting an education was dissed on a LOPSA
list.

Here is the "take a deep cleansing breath" moment I'm referring to:

Let me get this straight: you are having a "negative response" to someone
because they got a community college degree? Hmmmm. When I look at your
explanation you go further and diss people who merely went to community
college. Let's take a look:

No - you shouldn't. But you evidently couldn't help yourself judging by what
you wrote subsequently.

It might explain, but doesn't justify the put down.

I think you would do well to reconsider how many people on this list - or their
families - "went to community college". My personal observation is that their
level of mediocrity is significantly lower than what you assert.

I hope we can discuss the merits of a CISSP further, without the needless swipe
above. What is indefensible is people with "no education at all", making fun of
people with an education. Now *that* might just correlate with "a distinction
shared by large numbers of mediocre people".

Ob CISSP:
Since I'm dealing with Enterprise Security and Federal agency mandates, I deal
with a lot of people with CISSP on their signature lines. I've genrally
resisted the siren song of certs for most of my career, but I'm thinking the
CISSP is not something to resist - someone might take my recommendations with
higher salt dosing if they don't see me sporting a CISSP title.

To the other CISSP holders:
Have you encountered any difficulty maintaining the CISSP or are the average 40
hours/year of formal continuing education not that big a burden for you?
