There were at least 21 iterations of 10.4.4. I doubt it would be possible for apple to test every possible combination of software/ hardware out thhere, that's why they have a bug reporting system. If your ftp server is broken, go report it, or complain to the company that made the ftp server. I see no reason why anything dealing with ftp should have broken, but then again, I don't use that ftp server, I use the one built-in to osx, and am having no troubles with mine. I'm also not having any problems that have been reported about vo on this list either, so who knows.
