It's interesting because when I first got into business,
building PCs was a fairly common undertaking for me, and it sure was
a lot more cost affective than buying full systems. The thing is,
over the last four years, the bottom has fallen out of the PC system
market in the states. You can buy full Dell systems for under $500
now. I guess if you realy know where to look, you might still save a
few bucks doing the do it yourself things, but for the Windows system
that I am using now and was built in January, it was more expensive
than an off the shelf system. Perhaps the prices are different
overseas, but from my recollection of pricing components, I am
inclined to think that I'd just buy a full system for a customer now
unless they specifically requested a DYI system.
