Well you know the old saying, I just happened to be in the right
place at the right time I suppose. I'll be getting the machine in a
few days so it will be interesting to see how OS10 and Voiceover go,
I'll give it my best shot. Failing that? Well my Cousin would love a
Ibook for school so I'll look at that possability then.

Congratulations to Dane for picking up a G3 iMac for $100. That is a
good deal. I periodically check eBay for late model G3 iMacs and am
stunned by what they go for. I think $200 would be fair, but they go
for twice that. One nice thing about machines that are good enough is
that you can break the upgrade cycle. I have an G3 iMac that runs OS
9 and the kids games great and is meets the minimum published
requirements for Tiger despite being manufactured in 2000. My
expectation is that Leopard will not support G3.
The OS X on generic 86 is interesting but not really practical for a
production machine. If you save $50 a month for a year that covers a
brand new Mini that you can reasonably expect to be compatible with
the latest software offering five years after purchase. It will be
far longer than a year before OSx86 is anything more than an
interesting hack.
