I do have an account on the other machine and I am running a firewall. I have personal file sharing turned on and thought this would have done the trick, but I'll try just browsing and see what that will do for me.
Thanks for the info.

You have an account on the other machine right? I realize it's a basic question, but you can never be too sure.
You have to use an existing user-id/pw combination.
Also, if you have a firewall running, it may not allow the fs packets through. If it can see the other macs, you may not need to login at all, simply try browsing them from the finder to see what it shows. They may already be mounted somewhere, and it's just not showing it.

Folks,

I want to share files between the Macs on my network. I assumed that personal file sharing would be sufficient if I'm using the connect to server (command + k) from finder. I can't seem to get the connection it failes stating that the user name or password are incorrect, or login disabled. It sees the machine on the network, but will not connect. I have successfully done this in the past, but can't for the life of me recall what I've changed if anything that isnt' allowing it to work. I'm sure its something really simple, but any suggestions appreciated.

tnx

Scott
