Hi Tim. I suspect you may well be right. But I have to say that this is a very large issue. It's completely ruined my VO experience to be honest. Sure, many apps still work fine. But Mail is one of those I use most frequently and it is very much broken. Or at least its interaction with VO is very much broken.

I think the Apple person you were speaking with was out to lunch. If it is by design then this behavior would occur in all situations and not just when replying to a message in Mail. I suspect it has something to do with the way VO is decoding stuff in HTML content as opposed to text fields like the subject line or text edit fields in TextEdit. In faxct, as I was typing this message, an interesting thing happened. Mail said "HTML Content" in the middle of my response as it sometimes does and then began behaving properly. Rather interesting.
