I downloaded windows media player 9.0. I realized it was a .bin file and the mac seemed not to know what to do with those, so I decided I would download and try to install stuff it expander. Imphasis on the word try to install. I installed stuff-it expander with no problems, but when I tried to click on the windows media.bin installer it crashed voice over. VO kept saying finder busy. I finally tried closing down and restarting voice over. But Voice over wouldn't start. I do have 2 other accounts created for just this purpose, but I couldn't access my damaged account's files with the other accounts to delete those 2 plist files. It kept saing access denied. I couldn't log in as root either it kept asking for a password and I couldn't figure out what password it wanted. I thought I'd seen someone on list mention that the password was blank, but it didn't seem to want that either. Finally I had someone sighted get me to the terminal in the damaged account and I deleted the 2 plist files and restarted. Voice over came up as hoped.

I tried opening the .bin file again just to make sure it wasn't a fluke that it crashed. Right whenit startedsaying finder busy I shut down voice over. This time I could bring it up again. But I don't know what to do. I'd like to be able to install windows media player. Is this just not possible, or is there something I'm missing.

Thanks.
Holly who is very relieved she was able to at least fix the problem.
