Btw, I had sighted site help to install my copy of windows media, and it still took several tries, so don't feel bad you couldn't do it first try alone.
Windows media player isn't necessary. Throw it away, and go get flip
for mac. It will do the same job, and with considerably less fuss.
The only reason I wanted windows media player was to play encrypted
content, but it can't/won't do the latest encryption, and nobody is
selling the earlier ones, because they've been broken. So, encrypted
wmv files are out. With that *major* annoyance, windows media is not
worth the hasle it takes to get it installed. Flip for mac plays
everything the silly media player will handle, and as I said, it's
much easier to install.
