Agreed on all points. The fact that one can not move files using VO
in the Finder is a huge flaw. This ties a rather fundamental failure
on Apple's part in not providing a VO compatible keyboard equivalent
for Drag-and-Drop.

And my attempts to get enough information on the apple mailing lists to implement a drag and drop scheme for us have failed miserably. It *should* be possible to populate the events buffer with a series of mouse movements, including drag events to move an item from one place on the screen to another. My repeated requests to various apple lists on this topic (and others) have gone unanswered. In fact, I've only ever received one or two answers on *any* apple list when I asked a question, and none of them actually answered my question, but merely pointed me to documentation I'd already examined that was *supposed to* answer my question. Apparently, the apple lists are for a particular range of questions, and/or whatever somebody feels like answering. I've seen other questions get no answer as well, but the large majority of them spark lots of discussions. It must just be my method of asking, because I cannot get a satisfactory answer on nearly anything regarding internals of events and how they operate. I've tried getting info on drag and drop simulation, creating voices for voiceover, dvd sound playback manipulation, terminal/voice interaction, and a few more I can't remember at the moment. The only ones that even got a reply was the one about having modifier keys recognized in keydown events, and they only referred me to documentation I'd already read. There was one person who said he'd tutor anyone for a fee about anything regarding cocoa programming. I put a question to him as well, offering to pay for the time since that's what he was advertising, and still, no reply. There must really be something off about where/how/when/why I ask my questions, because I honestly can't figure out why such questions on 2-3 different apple lists over the last year have met with such resounding silence. I'm tempted to try my adc select membership apple support event, and see if that works, since nothing else seems to. At least there I'd get an answer, though with the success I've had so far, it'll probably be an answer along the lines of "sorry, we don't support that sort of inquiry, because it would expose too much apple internals." or
"that's beyond our scope of support."
But anyway, I keep plugging away, and eventually I'll figure all this stuff out on my own. It's just frustrating that I *know* what needs done, and can't find out how to do it.
