Hi Gordon,

When you enter terminal, you are probably already logged in. Use VO navigation to take a look at the screen and you should find something like the following:
Last login: Mon Aug 7 10:08:08 on ttyp1
Welcome to Darwin!
appleseed:~ davidpoehlman$

Of course, your log in name will be there instead of mine. When I have stuff to copy into terminal, I copy it to the clip board and paste it in to the terminal window. Take a look at the result with VO navvigation and if you don't see your name at the bottom, just press enter and then read the output again.

I hope this makes sense, but if you need further help, feel free to drop me a note.

Hi. I need to use Terminal in order to resolve an issue which has arisen locally. This is going to sound more than just a little dumb, but I've never used the Terminal app before. So I assume that the first thing I need to do is log in. I'm getting the -Bash prompt. I have two lines of text to enter as per instructions from a software vendor. I wonder if somebody would be willing to give me a hand, maybe off list would be better. Thanks, and I'm sorry this is so basic. I'm more than a little embarrassed to admit my ignorance on this one, <smile>.
