As a musician, the more ram I have, the more plugins and virtual instruments
I can load at one time. If I had something like the new mac pro with 16 gigs
of ram, then I can load tons of memory intensive softsynths at once. It's
not always about whether the os can handle the ram well, it's about the ap
itself. The more ram I can eventually throw at pro tools for plugins and
softsynths, the easier it will make my work flow. I've got 1 and a half
gigs of ram in my g4, and sometimes that is not even enough.
