I have been using speech on the Mac since 1998 [PlainTalk] and the keyboard rather than the mouse for it is easier for me. Have always been visally impaired but saw better in 1998 than today. Only have little spot of vision [20/4000] in the left eye but find that using VO with keyboard is so much handier for me. Also, after first couple hours in morning, my vision fades to unusability. Therefore, more now than ever, use keyboard with VO. Before, listened to my documents with PlainTalk to proof them. Do not use magnification now, but did in 1998. Hope this helps.
