One thing us blind folks should remember is that VO was designed so that both a blind and sighted person can work together. So that you can work in an office with sighted people and both of you see (visualize if blind) the same thing and follow the cursers and such. To a sighted person it is very clear what you are doing. And VO works just the same as if you had a sighted person running it, ie the visual interface looks the same whether VO is on or off and follows all the apple rules so a person familiar with the apple can readily use the VO or follow what it is doing. The sighted person sees everything you do as graphics placed on the screen and can hop back and forth while in VO from using the mouse to using the keyboard or both .

David, My boss wants to learn how to use it, so I'll be working with her. She wants to learn it so that maybe she can help me to better understand the relationship between the operating system and VoiceOver, from a sighted person's perspective. And since I'm not a programmer, and she's had some programming experience, I think I could probably learn more from her than I could imagine she would from me. But that remains to be seen. By the way, since I have told her about this discussion list, she was wondering if sighted Mac users were welcome? Richie Gardenhire, Anchorage, Alaska.
